Coming to the United States for the first time to study English can seem like a frightening experience for students. However, the process is not as difficult or complicated as it seems. With OLS, you can find everything you need to know about studying English in the US, from getting the necessary documents, to visa interviews and acquisitions, to entry to the US and ongoing support for living in the US. Submit the application form and a few supporting documents (such as a copy of your passport and bank statement in English) to the institute where you will be studying. The school will confirm the application form and required documents and send the I-20 Form to the student by international mail once everything is cleared. This is a very important document for your arrival and stay in the United States.
You must register online and pay the SEVIS fee. SEVIS is the identity management program for international students. The SEVIS fee receipt is required for visa issuance and entry into the United States, so keep it secure. After paying the SEVIS fees, you must complete and submit the online DS-160 Form, a US nonimmigrant visa application. DS-160 Submission Confirmation is required for visa interview.
After paying the visa fee, apply for a visa interview online at the visa interview application site by specifying the date that you can attend an interview. Provide your identification documents, financial documentation, and other required documents, including the DS-160 Form. After checking the material for the visa interview and preparing for it, you will attend the visa interview at the US Embassy in your home country.
If you are successful, you will be required to enter the language school and prepare for your stay in the United States (you must enter the US within 30 days of the start date of your I-20 Form). You should contact the language school to discuss the start date, lodging/homestay, insurance, airport pickup, etc., and purchase your flight ticket. As soon as you arrive in the United States, you will immediately visit the language school and discuss your needs for language education and student support services.

In order to ensure that we have enough teachers and enough space for all those wish to enroll, OLS must receive payment 4 weeks before the start of your first quarter. If we do not receive your payment by the deadline, we cannot guarantee your enrollment in a class and you may not be able to maintain your I-20 or F-1 status. Please be sure to pay by the deadline to avoid consequences.
** The application fee is non-refundable. Students may cancel registration at any time. However, international students will be warned of the effects that their cancellation will have on their I-20 status. Students may choose to pay tuition in advance to receive a discount, or students may choose to pay for each term individually.
International students must pay 6 months of tuition in advance in order to secure enrollment. The 6 month tuition payment is non-refundable after the start of your first quarter. We offer our students a discount if they plan to stay longer than 6 months and wish to pay for the remaining months in advance. All prepaid tuition also becomes non-refundable after the start of your first quarter. If you choose not to pay your full term in advance, the remaining tuition past 6 months will be due at least 3 weeks in advance of the unpaid quarters.
(Some exceptions to the 6 month requirement can be made in the case of a student planning to enter a college or work program after 3 months. Please email email@example.com.)
Any advance tuition payment that OLS receives will automatically be non-refundable. Because our classes are planned in advance, and because the absence of a student part of the way through a quarter has a negative effect on the rest of the students and planned group work, tuition is generally non-refundable. However, we understand that extreme circumstances can affect a student's ability to attend class. For this reason, the Director may make the decision to issue a credit/refund on an individual basis after meeting with the student to discuss options. If you need to request a meeting regarding cancellation of your enrollment, you may do so by email or in person.

** I-901 SEVIS fee goes directly to the government and is non-refundable. Optimus will gladly file your I-901 to save you time. Optimus provides this service free of charge. We simply collect the $200 fee to cover the charge that will need to be paid to the government. If you prefer, you can file your I-901 yourself and pay the fee online to the government. You will still be charged the same amount of $200 on the SEVIS website.

After you send all three documents (an OLS application form, a passport, and a bank statement), you will receive the acceptance email and bank information.

OLS will send an I-20 Form, I-901 (receipt of SEVIS payment), and the Acceptance Letter by international mail once the application form and required documents are received and the eligibility requirements are confirmed.
Visit https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/ to fill out the online nonimmigrant visa application. You will need your passport, I-20 Form, and information about the dates of your last five visits to the United States (if applicable).
You may also be asked for your previous work or education experience and your travel itinerary if you have already made travel arrangements. All answers on the DS-160 must be in English. Following your application, you will need to make an appointment for your visa interview with the U.S. embassy or consulate.

First, print your DS-160 form. It has an application number on it that you will need. You will also need your SEVIS ID #, which you can find on your I-20 form. Please go to http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ to set up your visa interview.
Second, you will pay your interview fee online. Each country has its own way to pay.

OLS provides a simulated visa interview service that will give you the knowledge and confidence you need for the interview. We know that the visa interview can be intimidating and even downright scary for students. Before taking the embassy interview in their own country, students can attend an online mock interview class, conducted through a video call service (Google+), in which our native-speaking teachers can help guide them through the questions that will be asked during the interview. This preparation will help them feel comfortable, calm, and more confident answering in English during their interviews.
Transferring to OLS from another language school is quick and simple. The process takes only a few days and 3 easy steps:

Once we have confirmed your payment, OLS will send you an Acceptance Letter and a SEVIS I-20 Transfer Form via e-mail. The student will complete the SEVIS I-20 Transfer Form
and submit the Acceptance Letter and the SEVIS I-20 Transfer Form to the student's current school.
The student will then be transferred through SEVIS based on the Acceptance Letter and the SEVIS I-20 Transfer Form. The student will then receive an I-20 Form issued by OLS.

If you wish to change your status by replacing your current visa with a student visa, please contact an OLS representative after preparing the following information.
1. Application for admission => Download and send e-mail
2. Scan a valid passport copy or e-mail a photo file.
3. Scan your current visa or send your photo file by e-mail.
4. Certificate of bank balance of you or your sponsor (balance must be in English and must be USD 26,400 or more) => e-mail scanned copy or photo file.

After payment is confirmed, you will be contacted by OLS representatives for procedures and any necessary correspondence related to admission and F-1 visa issuance. If you need more precise legal response, please consult a lawyer. Please note that additional charges may apply.
We know that even if you’ve lived here for a few years or are a long-time resident, everyday tasks can still be quite difficult if you don’t have good English skills. Now, OLS offers lessons that cover these everyday tasks, such as shopping, going to the post office, reading and filling out government forms (ex. social security), attending school conferences, and even studying for citizenship.
The deadline to apply is about 8 weeks prior to the start of the quarter for which you are applying. Deadlines are set to allow students enough time to complete the visa process and pay for tuition on time.

Once you send in your application documents (an OLS application and copies of your passport and bank statement), you should receive an email regarding your admission status usually within 1-2 days. We guarantee that you will receive your I-20 form in the mail within one week from the day that you receive your acceptance email from OLS. For your convenience we will provide you with the UPS (United Parcel Service) tracking number. You will be able to track your I-20 form from the moment we send it. Please use the UPS tracking website to track your I-20 form (https://www.ups.com/WebTracking/track?loc=en_gb).
*If you do not receive it within one week, we will refund your mailing fee $100.
After being enrolled for 3 consecutive quarters, you will be eligible to take a break for 1 quarter (3 months) without having to reapply to OLS. Missing a quarter for vacation before you are eligible, or extending your vacation longer than 1 quarter, will put you out of status and jeopardize your visa.
If you wish to leave the United States during your vacation time, you will need to bring your valid passport, I-20 form, and any other necessary visa documents. Carry them with you to make sure you can easily reenter the US.
